Dr. Day currently teaches courses in the areas of Instructional Design, Supervision of Instruction, Organizational Dynamics, Introduction to Research, and Master’s Proposal and Project.
Degree:
Doctor of Education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in Educational Organization and Leadership in 2000.
School Leadership Experience:
Dr. Day spent the last thirteen years as Middle School Assistant Principal in Pennsylvania and Junior High Principal in Illinois. During his tenure in Illinois, Dr. Day also held district duties in the areas of curriculum design, teacher evaluation design, internal & external school review, and the management of state grants in science literacy, technology in the classroom, and gifted programs.
Research Interests:
Within the area of scholarship, Professor Day has conducted presentations at the state and national levels. At the national level, presentations have focused on the effectiveness of after school programs for at-risk students, mapping curriculum at the higher education level to national standards, and school district reorganization. At the state level, topics on at-risk student learning issues, curriculum mapping, teacher evaluation models, and school district reorganization have been presented.
