Dr. Cook currently teaches courses in the areas of Foundations of Teacher Leadership online, Introduction to Research, and Master’s Proposal and Project.

Degree:
Doctor of Education from Capella University, Minneapolis, MN in Higher Education Leadership in 2004.
                                                                                                                
School Leadership Experience:                                                                                  
Dr. Cook spent the last fourteen years in various positions at Kaskaskia Community College in Illinois. Most recently, she she held the position of Dean of Continuing Education & University Alliance which focused on Community Outreach, Education Centers, Distance learning concepts including the development of online instructional programs, interactive television and technology.  During her tenure in the community college system, Dr. Cook also actively participated in statewide programs in the areas of literacy grant programming, partnerships between P – 20 educators, the Illinois Council on Continuing and Higher Education and the Illinois Continuing Education and Training commission of Illinois Council of Community College Administrators.

Research Interests:
Professor Cook has conducted presentations at the state and national levels. At the national level, presentations topics have included the development of leaders, transforming educational organizations, and collaboration in rural communities. At the state level, topics presented included at-risk adult students, strategies for serving low-literate families, English as a Second language learning, and adult student learning issues and strategies.
